Coca-Cola Employee Notices Something In To-Be Filled Cans, Gags When He Realizes What It Is

Coca-Cola is an immensely popular drink across the world and their distinctive red cans often leave people craving a drink. However, recent allegations from a Coca-Cola factory located at Knockmore Hill, Northern Ireland, might be enough to put people off cans of coke for a while. Workers at the factory were horrified to discover that a number of empty cans were filled with human waste. The cans were yet to be filled with the popular beverage and the soda company’s quality control procedures were able to detect the presence of foreign substances in the cans.

A source from the factory informed a reporter from the Belfast Telegraph about the situation, saying: “It was absolutely horrible, and the machines had to be turned off for about 15 hours to be cleaned. It was unusual because normally the cans come from somewhere else in the UK, but this time they apparently came from Germany.” Several unfounded rumors have surfaced alleging that illegal immigrants defecated in the unfilled cans while travelling in a shipping container with the cans.

Coca-Cola rapidly released a statement when the news story began to gain traction online, saying: “Coca-Cola take the safety and quality of our products extremely seriously…. The problem was identified immediately through our robust quality procedures and all of the product from the affected production was immediately impounded and will not be sold. This is an isolated incident and does not affect any products currently on sale.”

Luckily, it appears that Coca-Cola is taking the issue seriously, suspending processing at the plant, spending hours cleaning the affected machinery and contacting the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI). The PSNI have launched an investigation into the matter while the Food Standards Agency have reported that no contaminated Coca-Cola cans ever came close to reaching shelves.

The story has exploded across many social media channels with many people mocking the colossal company, reigniting the indelible comparison against Coca-Cola’s biggest competitor: Pepsi.
