CNN Host Makes Horrible Mistake While Attempting To Mock Trump

Certain facts are considered to be relatively common knowledge among those who follow politics, and we certainly expect those that are tasked with covering them for a living to be fully abreast of them. As Western Journalism points out, it sounds like this CNN anchor could benefit from a social studies refresher course.

Brooke Baldwin was the on-air host when Donald Trump’s comments about his desire to ‘drain the swamp’ in the nation’s capital, and push for Congressional term limits if he’s elected president.

“Correct me, there already are term limits so what does he mean?” she said.

One of her panelists quickly attempted to cover her gaffe, but it was already too late. Term limits are not in place for members of Congress, hence Trump’s desire to see them implemented.

“Come on, @BrookeBCNN. That's "Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?" material,” one user wrote on social media.

The segment continued on its awkward path after Baldwin’s obvious misfire, and she was absolutely roasted on social media. It actually provides a valuable lesson for other anchors that feel the need to react so snidely to news surrounding the Trump campaign: It’s a good idea to have your own facts straight, as the American public is simply not going to stand for you not being on your game when it’s your turn at the megaphone.
