Clinton Shares New Book Title - Gets Mocked And Humiliated

The 2016 presidential election is going down as one of the most controversial political moments in American history. Now, Hillary Clinton is opening up about her ‘shocking’ loss against GOP nominee, Donald Trump. After several months of keeping a low profile, Ms. Clinton has decided to publish a tell-all memoir on her personal and professional experiences in the lead-up and during the presidential election. The new book, titled ‘What Happened’ is set to be published by Simon & Schuster and will be released on September 12, 2017.

According to a brief synopsis from Simon & Schuster, Ms. Clinton’s memoir will delve into her experiences as the first female presidential nominee from a major party. Specifically, ‘What Happened’ looks set to examine the 2016 presidential race from Ms. Clinton’s point of view, who describes the election as "marked by rage, sexism, exhilarating highs and infuriating lows, stranger-than-fiction twists, Russian interference, and an opponent who broke all the rules."

The Simon & Schuster outline also revealed that Ms. Clinton will discuss the impact of her gender on her experiences as a politician and presidential nominee, with the book addressing the "challenges of being a strong woman in the public eye, the criticism over her voice, age, and appearance, and the double standard confronting women in politics." Such themes are familiar topics for Ms. Clinton who, earlier this year, was presented an award for her role as a female advocacy leader. After receiving the award, Ms. Clinton remarked about her current state of mind, saying: "I've had my ups and my downs. In the last months, I've done my share of sleeping. A little soul searching and reflecting,"

According to CBS News, Ms. Clinton begins her book in a conversational tone, writing in the introduction: "In the past, for reasons I try to explain, I've often felt I had to be careful in public, like I was up on a wire without a net. Now I'm letting my guard down."

If the Simon & Schuster synopsis is anything to go by, ‘What Happened’ will not be shying away from President Trump’s historic victory in the election, with the description reading: "[Clinton] describes what it was like to run against Donald Trump, the mistakes she made, how she has coped with a shocking and devastating loss, and how she found the strength to pick herself back up afterwards."

Unsurprisingly, Ms. Clinton’s new book is already dividing social media and many Twitter users have their own ideas about ‘what happened’ to Ms. Clinton during the presidential election. Twitter users were particularly fixated on the book’s title, with many people mocking Ms. Clinton with memes and photoshopped images. One user, Ryan Fournier, believes that Clinton will be implying that her loss was ‘unfair’, writing: “Hillary's new book #WhatHappened is going to detail how she spent over $1 billion, still lost the election and how it's not her fault.”

Since her shocking defeat, Ms. Clinton has been uncharacteristically quiet, making limited public appearances and restricting her engagement with the media. Ms. Clinton’s photos on social media have revealed that the former Secretary of State is spending some time on recreation, with numerous posts of Ms. Clinton in national parks, shopping and eating out.
