Clinton Reveals She Plans To Do This 'Directly To White People'

Every time there’s a high-profile police-involved shooting, you can be certain that it will become a talking point for the presidential candidates on the campaign trail. Generally, both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump will craft the message so it fits in with their particular platform, and that’s led to some awkward moments where the appropriateness of their remarks were called into question. As Western Journalism reports, Clinton had one of those moments during a recent interview.

Clinton was a guest on ‘The Steve Harvey Morning Show’ radio program, and the subject turned to the recent shooting of an African-American man in Tulsa, Okla. The candidate delivered a curious take on what she could do to quell some of the violence that has gripped the nation.

“Maybe I can by speaking directly to white people say, ‘Look, this is not who we are. We’ve got to do everything possible to improve policing, to go right at implicit bias,” she said.

She would go on to address the issues of the racial divide that is permeating throughout the country.

“We’ve got to tackle the systemic racism, this horrible shooting again, how many times do we have to see this in our country?” Clinton said.

Reaction was swift on social media, with many users pointing to Clinton as contributing to and encouraging the divide.

“Hillary offers no real solutions to the black community except that she will talk to those racist white people. Unreal…,” one user wrote on Twitter.
