Church Bus Driver Is Discovered To Be A Sex Offender With New Victims

In 2002, Jory Leedy was convicted of molesting an 11-year-old boy. His name is listed on the sex offender registry. Although, investigators are saying that the 46-year-old Leedy lied to get a job with Target Ministries of Dayton, who hired him to shuttle needy families in a van. Leedy lives in Franklin and met his two latest victims through that church job in 2012--the boys were seven and eight years old.

According to court records, Leedy had been visiting the boys' home on a nightly basis. He told them his name was "Jordan," and he began buying clothes and games for the children. Their mother became suspicious and started searching Leedy's name online--but, nothing came up under his fake name.

In addition, court records state “Leedy made himself part of their bedtime routine, tucking them in at night. A few weeks after meeting the family, Leedy got permission from the mother to start taking the victims to his church.”

Police say that Leedy also started taking the boys to the Cincinnati Zoo, Kings Island and other attractions in the Cincinnati area--that were about an hour away from Dayton. He was also given the mother’s permission in summer 2013 to pick the boys up on Saturdays and stay in a hotel with them to be closer to Crossroads, a megachurch with several locations in suburban Cincinnati. Church officials say their member registry does not list anyone named Jory Leedy.

The weekend trips went on through last summer. Leedy even took the boys to the New Jersey shore, North Carolina, Georgia and Disneyworld. The boys told investigators that Leedy forced them to engage in sexual activity on their out-of-town trips.

They said Leedy liked to snuggle with them in the nude and insisted that they call him “Papa." Leedy would get furious if they did not follow his orders. In September, the boys' father confronted Leedy saying he had overstepped his boundaries with the children.

Leedy called Fairborn police after the argument turned physical, and officers found out Leedy's true identity--he warned the parents that he was a sex offender. According to investigators, Leedy met his previous victim through a Big Brothers program over a decade ago. Some reports state he was a youth hockey coach.

Leedy was arraigned Tuesday in federal court. If convicted of his latest charges, he faces a potential life sentence.
