Chris Rock Divorce Spurred On By Extra-Marital Relations With Kerry Washington

Celebrity Chris Rock tied the knot with Malaak Compton-Rock back in 1996, and they were believed to be one of the rare Hollywood couples who would 'make it.' After 18 years of marriage, that prediction was proven wrong when the two were divorced, leaving many to wonder why. New reports reveal that infidelity caused the end of the long marriage.

Rock, now 52, and Malaak Compton-Rock split up in 2014. Their divorce was finalized in August of 2016. Rumors swirled that Rock was sleeping with several other women, but no names were confirmed.

New reports by Page Six say that one of the women Rock cheated with was Kerry Washington of 'Scandal.' He was cheating on his wife with Kerry when they were filming ['I Think I Love My Wife'] about him, ironically, having fantasies of cheating on his wife. That went on for a while, for like six months, and she found out. There's no gray area," a source told the gossip media outlet.

Kerry and Rock worked on the movie back in 2006. Kerry was, at the time, engaged to actor David Moscow. He refuses to comment on whether there was an affair or not. In 2013, Kerry married Nnamdi Asomugha. The couple now have two children together.

At the same time, Rock’s marriage began falling apart.

Just before the divorce was finalized, Rock went on what he jokingly referred to as the 'alimony tour.' "I've got to make some money first," said the comedian.

"Getting divorced, you have to f--king start over," he said of how he felt after the divorce and custody battle. "You get to reset. It's not a breakdown, but something in your life broke down."

Rock is now dating Megalyn Echikunwoke, though he says he has no plans to ever get married again. "Would I ever get married again? Not if it would cure AIDS," he told a reporter.
