Chick-Fil-A Customer Sexually Assaulted 2-Year-Old In Bathroom

A sad and shocking attack in an Orlando Chick-fil-A left one man arrested, and one child traumatized. The man was allegedly the child's caretaker and visited the restaurant with the family frequently.

Another customer caught him sexually assaulting the child in the public restroom.

A customer went into the restroom at the chicken restaurant on Friday morning and was about to use the urinal. That's when he caught a glimpse of something suspicious looking on the reflection of a wall tile.

It looked like someone was bouncing a young child on his lap.

“(The witness) was not sure if the baby was bouncing or if they were having sex,” read a police report.

“(The witness) stated he flushed the toilet on purpose to let the man hear him in the bathroom. (The witness) stated, if he panics, then he must be doing something wrong.”

After hearing the flush, the person, later identified as 35-year-old David Gray, panicked. He quickly scrambled and attempted to get dressed.

The customer at first tried to prevent Gray from leaving the bathroom, but the man was desperate to get away. He was in a motorized wheelchair and he pulled out a stun gun and threatened the customer, trying to prevent the customer from following him.

“I’ll [expletive] kill you,” Gray said to the man.

Gray left the bathroom, and the customer quickly followed. He pointed at Gray and called for help yelling, "Call the police, a child is being abused in the bathroom!"

Gray was arrested. He was employed by the child's family as a caretaker.

The names of the 2-year-old victim and the victim’s family are being withheld for privacy purposes. There is no word currently on the condition of the child.

Another Chick-fil-A regular told police that she sees Gray at the restaurant at least twice per week with a woman and children. “She saw him take the baby into the bathroom, and on several occasions, he took other small babies into the bathroom with him," said the witness.

Sebrina Bryant, Gray's former landlord, says that she's shocked by the arrest. She says Gray is the last person she would ever have believed could do such a horrific thing.

“He was just great,” Bryant told Fox News. “He was great with the kids, great with paying his rent on time. I never seen any signs.”

Gray has been charged with sexual battery on a child younger than 12, lewd or lascivious battery, lewd or lascivious molestation on a child younger than 12, lewd or lascivious conduct by a person older than 17, child abuse, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and exposure of sexual organs.

The shocking crime in a public restroom is hard to imagine, especially considering the person perpetuating the alleged attack is someone who was entrusted to take care of the child. It’s a reminder of how important it is for citizens to be vigilant of wrongdoing, and to quickly sound the alarm when they believe they’ve spotted a child being hurt.
