Carson Reveals Trump's Reaction The Moment He Realized He'd Won The Election

After Trump's monumental win in the presidential election, former Republican primary candidate Dr. Ben Carson has made some comments about the 'real' Donald Trump. Carson thinks that President Elect Trump is going to surprise a lot of people.

Carson may have been Trump's opponent in the primaries, but since withdrawing from the race, the good doctor has thrown his full support behind Trump. After Tuesday night's election upset, Carson shared his thoughts about Trump with Katie Couric of Yahoo news.

After a win that almost no one expected, Carson says Trump was quiet. “I think really reflecting on the tremendous responsibility that was going to be on his shoulders,” Carson explains. “He was not leaping for joy — he was much more contemplative.”

Carson believes Trump's restraint was a good sign. “I think that kind of shows and gives us some insight into what kind of president he’s going to be. I don’t think he’s going to go off half-cocked.”

Despite all the scandalous behavior in his past that has come back to haunt Trump during the election, Carson thinks the real estate mogul will surprise everyone with patience and wisdom. “I think he’s going to be waiting, listening, weighing options, talking to people. And I think that’s one of the inappropriate impressions people have gotten about him, that he’s sort of brash and impulsive. And he really isn’t,” Carson said of Trump.

The neurosurgeon is confident that a President Trump will bring the country together. “I think actually a lot of the people who have tried to demonize him will be quite shocked when they see who (Trump) really is,” he said. “He’ll be a very easy person to work with as long as you’re reasonable, as long as you’re fair.”
