Business Owner's Response To Supreme Court Ruling Turns Heads

In Lufkin, Texas, a marquee outside the RJT Equipment company is garnering much attention. In all capital letters, the sign reads "Homosexuality is an abomination to God. Leviticus 18:22. He will punish the U.S.A for it." Owner Kirk Johnson told KTRE he changed his sign after the Supreme Court’s decision to legalize same-sex marriage throughout the U.S. Johnson said of his sign "You can't miss it. I felt like it was wrong, and I needed to say what I thought. I did.” He went on to say "I just felt like the whole thing was shoved down our throats.”

Johnson’s pastor, Ronnie Frankens of the Greater Love Tabernacle church, agreed saying "I think we need to have more people that are forthright and will stand up and be counted." Frankens also added that the legalization of same-sex marriage was "a sad day for America." Frankens also stated that the message was meant to promote love by saying "It's not a hate crime to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It's too clear. America will be punished for what we are allowing and what we won't stand against.”
