Bullies Ruthlessly Mock Kid For As Long As He Remembers, Now His Teeth Are Fixed

Sadly, bullying in education institutions remains a pressing concern across America. Whether it’s about appearance, grades, background, gender, race or even religion, being specifically targeted, degraded and humiliated on a regular basis can make a child’s school experience a living hell.

Evan Hill, a young boy attending school in New Zealand, has endured years and years of cruel bullying and abuse as a result of a pronounced case of ‘buck teeth’. As he grew older, Evan noticed that more and more of his so-called friends were turning their backs on him and partaking in the bullying.

Evan’s particular dental situation continued to worsen over time, becoming so bad that he was unable to properly close his mouth. Consequently, Evan’s self-esteem began to plummet and he was subjected to cruel monikers, such as ‘rabbit kid’, on a daily basis.

As a result, Evan’s concerned mother, Barbara Erickson, tried to draw attention to her son’s plight in an attempt to raise funds for the expensive teeth realignment operation. However, despite several generous donations, Ms. Erickson was still short on money and began to contemplate more extreme ways to come up with the cash, saying: “We looked at probably mortgaging our house to pay for them but this came up and blew me away.”

However, increasing publicity within New Zealand lead to a final round of immensely generous donations, allowing Evan’s mother to finally pay for the orthodontic operation. The orthodontist most familiar with Evan’s situation, Doctor Ronald Sluiter, described the boy’s teeth as “among the worst cases he ever witnessed in his practice.”

Doctor Sluiter began the long operation by using braces and other orthodontic equipment to secure Evan’s teeth and begin moving them 15mm into position. By all reports, Evan is incredibly happy with his ‘normal’ teeth and is excited to showcase his newfound smile and more positive self-image with Ms. Erickson saying that she is “quite excited to see [Evan] smile with no braces on. I don’t know where we would have been today without the generosity we had.”
