Boy Terrified As His Dad Walks Him Past Bullies But Look At What's Under His Coat

Most people wouldn’t expect to get choked up by something as simple as a commercial for an insurance company, but that’s exactly what happens to viewers of this gem. As shared by the SF Globe, the video paints a perfect picture of the powerful impact that the love of a father - and fatherhood in general - can have on an impressionable child.

The video is from American Family Insurance and has been viewed roughly one million times on YouTube. The video revolves around the simple concept of a father not only supporting their child’s dreams, but insuring they are prepared to face life’s challenges head-on.

It starts simply enough with a young boy viewing a video of a flamenco dancer, and setting his sights on being able to perform as gracefully someday. The father takes notice, and later enters the boy’s room. He’s not there to have the kid sign up for dancing lessons just yet, but rather hands the boy a martial arts uniform.

The boy picks up martial arts even though he’s not particularly crazy about. He proceeds to become pretty good at it, and the father becomes confident enough to purchase the flamenco outfit the boy wanted in the first place. So why did he put the kid through that?

Turns out they’re from a pretty rough neighborhood, and the father worried about the boy having to deal with bullies as a result of his flamenco dancing, and wanted to make sure his son could defend himself. The video strikes a chord with nearly all who view it, and has sparked a ton of commentary.

“I think this is a brilliant video, Dad's are one [of] the people who will protect you even when you don't realise it :) they will always know you and what your capabilities are,” one commenter wrote.
