Boy Starts Shooting As Soon As He Gets To School, This Was His Inspiration

After the tragic school shooting at a high school in southeastern France on Thursday, details about the killer are coming to light. According to Reuters, the killer in France was fascinated by American mass shooting reports, especially the massacre at Columbine.

The 17-year-old boy open fired at his school leaving four people shot, including the principal, and at least 10 others injured. The shooter entered Alexis de Tocqueville with a rifle, handgun, revolver and two grenades. Miraculously, no one died in the attack and the suspect was arrested.

The shooter was captured after the incident in a nearby supermarket and placed under arrest. Because he is a minor, the student’s name is not being released to the public. Police suspect there may have been a second male involved, and that this suspect is still on the run.

The shooting is being investigated by authorities, but is not being labeled a terrorist act at this time. “The motivation of the student appears linked to bad relations with other students in this high school, in which it appears he had some difficulty integrating,” said Prosecutor Fabienne Atzori.

The Minister of Education is calling it an 'act of madness by an unstable young man fascinated by weapons.'

The teen's Facebook posts show a number of chilling videos that he posted in the months before the shooting. In one disturbing video, he's wearing a scary clown mask and holding a gun. He aims at the camera and pulls the trigger (though there are no bullets), then aims at his head and pulls the trigger.

The Facebook page is full of violent images of well, such as creepy men with chainsaws and evil characters. The disturbing fascination with violence, shootings and villains gives a glimpse into the warped mind of the shooter, and could have hinted at the tragedy to come.

With the French elections coming up in a few weeks, the topic of guns, gun laws and violence are currently a very heated topic.
