Boy Lying On The Floor Tells Officer He's Having A 'Bad Day', Onlookers Shocked When He Does This

Communication is key in virtually every area of life, but it can be pretty hard to engage in effective conversations when two parties aren’t seeing eye to eye. As difficult as it may be, all it takes is for one person to extend an olive branch - and that can lead to productive talks that puts the issue in the rearview mirror. As Inside Edition shares, this police officer from the state of Indiana has offered up a fabulous lesson on that.

Sergeant Precious Cornner-Jones was at an event at Indianapolis Public School 88. One of the little guys in attendance wasn’t feeling it, and he began to act out in a non-disruptive way. That prompted her to get down to his level.

“This little fella was having a rough morning and fell out on the floor. I saw his mother step back and look. She stated this is how he is expressing himself lately. I decided to get on his level and talk to him. He started to cry so I wiped his tears and told him it will be ok. As an adult sometimes all we want is one person to stop, get on our level and maybe wipe our tears. These children are entitled to bad days just as us, so give them that moment to bring it together,” she shared on social media.

The post was accompanied by an adorable pic on the floor with the upset little man. He eventually came around and got with the program, and that inspired this amazing officer to share a lesson that we can all use in situations that call for cooler heads and a little bit of understanding.

“Out of all of this I just want everyone to see that it’s about spreading love and changing the narrative between the community and police officers... just getting down on people’s level," she said.
