Last Thursday, in Jones County, Mississippi, angry employee Jeffrey Crespo felt he had a bone to pick with his employer, 72-year-old Roger Smith. The two men had an argument over the mechanical quality of Crespo's work.
Crespo didn't have the strength to handle the criticism, so he grabbed a sledgehammer and started swinging it around menacingly at Smith. Crespo even hit Smith with it. So, Smith told Crespo to drop the sledgehammer, and he refused.
As a result, Smith went to his camper parked nearby to retrieve his .22 caliber pistol. Crespo made another swing at Smith, and Smith shot him. Crespo was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his chest, and he eventually succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital.
Deputies found the sledgehammer near Crespo's body, and Smith had sustained injuries to his right eye and elbow. Police found that Smith shot Crespo in self-defense.
