BLM Protestor Goes To Officer's House - Situation Takes Dangerous Turn

An Indianapolis, Indiana man who was already out on parole shot up a police officer’s home and patrol vehicle in the early morning hours. The man was reportedly wearing a 'Black Lives Matter' T-shirt and screaming profanities about police.

March Eugene Ratney, 27, was arrested and charged with criminal recklessness and unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon. The arrest came after Ratney was suspected of being the person who fired more than a dozen shots into a police officer's home, and at the patrol vehicle parked outside of his home.

After the incident, Ratney's sister called police to report her brother pulled a gun on her and threatened to kill her. Ratney had recently been paroled after serving half of a 12-year sentence. Officers searched his house and found two guns and shell casings that matched those from the scene of the earlier shooting. In addition, images of Ratney's vehicle were captured on surveillance camera, fleeing the scene shortly after the shooting.

"Law is the safeguard of freedom, when those who swear to uphold the law fall under attack it threatens the fabric of our society," said a letter from the Indiana Fraternal Order of Police. "We must come together to help protect those who protect our communities."
