Bartender Shocked By Customer's Tip

Anthony Fetto is a bartender in Seattle who was surprised by the tip he was left by an anonymous resident. It wasn't a tip, but it was a note instead. In the tip line was written "zero."

Fetto told WTKR, “He was actually sitting right next to the server station where I was, so I was right there all the time, he was getting the best service."

The customer wrote that he didn't tip because a $15 minimum wage means a higher cost to consumers and more money in the servers' pockets--which, makes them less reliant on tips. The card also called the Seattle city council "vultures."

In addition, the card said it had nothing to do with the service provided.

Fetto said, “It didn’t get me mad or anything, I was like wow, this is kinda silly like, y’know, tipping is a choice." The card shared a link to a Facebook page, where supporters of the "No Tipping" movement can share their experiences.

Fetto added, “At least come up and tell me personally like make a human contact, don’t be very passive aggressive and just kind of leave this and walk away without saying anything." Fetto also said he makes much less than $15 an hour.

Seattle's $15 minimum wage hike is set to be phased in gradually over seven years.
