Bar Patrons Immediately Call Police When They See What's Under Woman's Shirt

Bar patrons were shocked to see what a couple attempted to bring into a local establishment, and they immediately notified the authorities.

After becoming a parent, it’s important to reassess personal priorities and put the needs of your children above your recreational habits. This simple idea appears to have been lost on 45-year-old Michael Trosclair and 42-year-old Shari Tremba. Mr. Trosclair and Ms. Tremba are facing charges for public intoxication and child neglect after they took their baby girl to a local Indianapolis bar and began drinking beer, smoking cigarettes and flirting with strangers instead of caring for their child. At one stage, Ms. Tremba was allegedly breastfeeding the young baby while smoking a cigarette and swigging from a beer bottle at the same time.

When Ms. Tremba and her child, who was in a stroller, were refused entry to Wild Beaver Saloon, the 42-year-old woman decided to wait near the bar’s entrance and see if she could convince any patrons to buy her alcohol. According to a Court affidavit, after Ms. Tremba convinced a small group of males to purchase her beer, she actually left her own child unattended in the stroller for several minutes. Detective notes in the case’s affidavit were structured around the following statement: “Partying was more important than their child."

It remains unclear if other bar patrons reported Ms. Tremba’s behavior or if officials from the Wild Beaver Saloon contacted the authorities. Regardless, after receiving a worrying report of a mother drinking heavily with her child nearby, Indianapolis police officers were dispatched to the scene. When police officers arrived, they tried to engage with Ms. Tremba, asking her for identification and enquiring if the young baby was her child.

Police reports reveal that Ms. Tremba’s “breath and person smelled like alcohol.” While police completed their due diligence and canvassed the nearby scene, a witness approached one of the Indianapolis police officers and informed them that Ms. Tremba had offered to have sex with someone if they bought her beer from Wild Beaver Saloon. Another witness reported to police that Ms. Tremba had used a length of chain to secure her baby’s stroller next to a nearby pole before she briefly entered the bar to purchase a drink. When police tested her blood alcohol reading, Ms. Tremba blew .193 – several orders of magnitude greater than the .08 legal limit.

Shortly after this exchange, Mr. Trosclair – who had reportedly spent his time gambling and drinking – approached and began aggressively talking to police. The Court affidavit sheds more light on Mr. Trosclair’s attitude and it reads: "Mr. Trosclair became belligerent and started demanding to talk to a lawyer and telling us we weren't going to do anything. It was at this time, due to Mr. Trosclair's behavior, I put him in cuffs for fear he may fight us with the baby right there."

After being checked over by medical professionals, doctors determined that the unnamed baby was in perfect health. An investigator from Child Protective Services has been dispatched to verify the parenting condition of the young girl and her family.
