Baby Boy Born With Full Head Of Hair - Gets Attention Everywhere He Goes

A now-five-month-old baby was born with so much hair on his head that his family have dubbed him “Mini Wolverine”.

According to proud parents Rachel and Gareth Carter, from Lydiate, Merseyside, they’ve known they had an unusual baby on their hands. When the couple had their medical appointment for a 20-week ultrasound scan, the staff told the Carters that they maybe should expect a girl because a full head of hair was already in evidence on the grainy ultrasound scan of the baby.

Rachel, who didn't want to officially know the gender of her child while pregnant, was stunned to discover the nurses had been right about one thing, and that her son Bobby was born with thick wavy locks of hair from the back of his neck all the way to his forehead.

Rachel, 30, comments that many people have compared her hairy little boy to the X-Men character Wolverine, and a few even compare him with comedian Ken Dodd. Mom Rachel also says that strangers frequently mistake Bobby for a girl.

His mom also notes that he needs his hair washed and blow dried daily and that he has lost virtually no hair since the day he was born.

Rachel also commented: “My eldest son, Frankie, was born with a lot of hair but not as much as Bobby.”

She continues to explain what happened at the hospital after Bobby was born: “When we went for our gender scan the nurses were sure I was having a girl because we could see that the baby had so much hair. They had never seen a scan photo like it before.”

Rachel went on: “When he was born, he was like a celebrity, the doctors were calling people around to come and look and everyone on the ward wanted to hold him. Even now when I walk down the road people have to stop to look at him, one lady even stopped her car in traffic and shouted 'Oh my god, look at that baby's hair.”

It seems that Bobby’s parents have set up an Instagram page for their son so the whole world can view his amazing head of hair.

Bobby’s proud mom remarked: 'We decided to set up the page as a way to document him growing up. My mum told me that I was born with a lot of hair too but he gets his hair colour from his dad.”

Rachel also commented: “I have to blowdry it otherwise it stands on end and people think he looks like Wolverine, he finds it relaxing and even plays with his hair to send himself to sleep.”

Rachel notes that she usually keeps Bobby hidden inside his pram when she’s out in public or at the supermarket so she can move about without causing too much of a stir.

She pointed out: “I keep him in his pram when we go to the supermarket because otherwise, we end up being there for hours with everyone stopping to talk to us. He was quite a timid baby but now he is starting to come out of his shell because of the all the attention he gets.”
