Armed Robber Breaks Into The Wrong House - Terrified When He Realized His Mistake

David Bartholomew allegedly tried to rob the wrong home and ended up getting shot. The 31-year-old was charged with home invasion, attempted first-degree assault and other related charges after he was accused of breaking into an officer’s home, the Washington Post reports.

The officer worked for the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission and said he heard a loud noise in his home and went to get his gun. When he saw Bartholomew he identified himself as a police officer.

“The suspect then advanced toward the homeowner with a knife in his hand,” county police said in a statement. “The homeowner, fearing for his safety, shot the suspect one time.”

Bartholomew fled the scene and was later caught and taken to the hospital to be treated for his gunshot wound. The unnamed officer was not injured and is on administrative leave. He began working for the utility after spending 20 years working for the University of Maryland at Baltimore.
