Anti-Trump Protestors All Have This In Common

Protesters in Portland, Oregon took to the streets after the initial election results to express their dissatisfaction. Many protests turned to rioting, and authorities began making arrests. Police say that many people participating in the protests aren't even voters; they're just anarchists jumping on the bandwagon. Internet buzz is that it’s a conspiracy.

The Portland Police Bureau arrested some 112 people during the post-election riots, most on Friday and Saturday night. At least 79 of the 112 people arrested didn't even vote - not in Oregon or in any other state. NBC station KGW of Portland compiled a list and found that the names of most of those arrested didn’t go to polls in any state, and many aren't even registered to vote.

"I did not (vote) and the reason why is because we know that the electoral college is really what matters the most. And I think that we need to change that because your vote doesn’t matter if you don’t have enough electoral college points," said Kevin Grigsby, one of the people arrested on Saturday night.

Internet rumors have been grumbling that protesters are being organized and sent in to cause trouble by social agitators. An organization within the Socialist Party, Socialist Advantage, has been using social media hashtags to organize the efforts, reported CNN’s Jean Casarez.

A week out, and there seems to be no sign of the protests or riots dying out anytime soon. With the Electoral College vote coming in a month, there could be a second wave, so people in major Democratic cities should brace themselves.
