After Her Husband Passes Away, She Notices Something Shocking In Their Wedding Photos

When our loved ones begin acting strangely, it’s easy to blame it on fatigue or stressful life events. Just before she got married, Emma Cotillard was thinking exactly this when her fiancé, Justin, began acting strangely in the lead-up to the wedding. Justin had been behaving erratically for a few weeks but Emma thought it was just a case of prenuptial nerves. However, in a tragic turn of events, Emma would later discover that Justin’s frequent mood changes and odd manner were being caused by something far more serious.

After a joyous wedding ceremony, Justin and Emma departed on their honeymoon and Emma, who was 7 months pregnant at the time, quickly forgot her worries. However, Emma’s concerns quickly reared back into her mind one morning when she awoke to Justin yelling and screaming for her to leave the room, saying: “He thought I was a stranger. He didn’t remember that I was seven months pregnant with our first baby.” Eventually, Emma was able to console her husband and Justin’s memories mostly returned to him. Understandably, the incident prompted the couple to end their honeymoon early and visit a doctor.

Tragically, after undergoing an MRI scan, doctors discovered that Justin’s paranoia and losses in memory were being caused by a fatal brain tumor. The couple were advised that Justin would be able to live for another 2 years if he underwent a range of treatments, including surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy. After just getting married and expecting a child together, the pronouncement was the worst possible news for Emma and Justin. After consulting with his wife and doctors, Justin bravely decided to begin the treatments in the hope that he would be able to spend a little bit more time with Emma and their first child. As a result of the stress, Emma gave birth to a healthy baby girl around five weeks earlier than expected, the same day that Justin began radiation therapy.

Despite this joyous occasion, doctors were forced to deliver more tragic information, telling the couple that Justin’s tumor was growing and metastasizing. On that day, all that Emma remembers is that the doctors “gave me two weeks to take my husband home before he died.” Seven months later, Justin finally passed away with the knowledge that his baby daughter was going to be okay. Emma recalls the tragic day, saying that she “went back to his room, laid down on the bed next to him and told him that Mia was on her way. That was when he let go. He died knowing that Mia was okay.”

After Justin’s tumor was discovered by doctors, Emma learned that early detection dramatically increases the chances of successful treatment. Sadly, when the young widow was looking through old pictures of her and Justin, she noticed that in one picture, the right side of Justin’s face was drooping, an early symptom of brain tumors. Since her husband’s passing, Emma has campaigned for increased awareness about brain tumors, emphasizing that early detection could have saved her husband’s life.
