Adoptive Parents Run From Hospital After Seeing Baby's Face, Then Something Surprising Happened

Part of being a parent is loving your child no matter what. Parents need to be able to accept both the good and the bad, especially when that child is just an innocent baby. One couple proved they probably weren't as ready to be real parents as they thought they were. They hightailed it out of the hospital and never called the birth mother again after the baby they were all set to adopt was born with a deformity.

Christina Fisher decided to give her baby up for adoption when she discovered she was pregnant. She was already struggling as the single parent of a teen, and she wanted to give her newborn a better life. An adoption was arranged, and it looked like everything was set.

That's when Abigail Lynn was born. Abigail came into the world with an unexpected rare condition known as Treacher Collins syndrome. The genetic condition, which was undetected in pregnancy tests, causes some facial deformities due to underdeveloped tissue. Thankfully, the condition won't stop Abigail from being a healthy child and having a normal life.

According to Fisher, "When she was born on 1-11-16 the adoptive mom left the hospital crying saying how deformed she is...and never heard from her again [sic]."

Talk about fair weather parents. But Abigail got a happy ending-- her birth mother fell in love with her and knew she had to raise her herself. "I was not fully prepared for her [Abigail] but now I can no longer see my life without either one of my daughters," said Fisher on her GoFundMe page, where she's trying to raise funds to provide baby items for Abigail.

That little girl dodged a bullet there. All’s well that ends well.
