Man's Ceaseless Flatulence Has Allowed Him To Avoid Police Interrogation

A man arrested on gun and drug charges has managed to put off being interviewed by police after investigators were forced to halt their interrogation because of his constant flatulence. The man in question, 24-year-old Sean Sykes Jr. from Kansas City, was initially arrested for illegal ownership of a firearm as well as possession and intention to sell cocaine. However, after his flatulence sent investigators packing, police decided to let the gassy criminal go without charges.

Police first arrested Mr. Sykes Jr. two months ago after receiving information that linked him to local drug dealing and firearm robbery. However, Kansas City police were unable to secure any evidence or a confession and were forced to let the man go.

After being sent on his way, it’s clear that Mr. Sykes Jr. had no intention of staying out of trouble and was later arrested on fresh gun and drug charges.

The incident began when Mr. Sykes Jr. was stopped by police for a random search of his vehicle. Upon searching the car, highway patrol officers found two handguns, a .357 Magnum and a smaller Glock of unknown calibre. Unfortunately for Mr. Sykes Jr., the serial number for the .357 Magnum – which had already been reported as stolen earlier in the week – matched a local stolen weapon.

Alongside the firearms, police also found a backpack filled with crack cocaine and marijuana. However, as soon as police asked Mr. Sykes Jr. about his current living address, the middle-aged man responded by farting. “Mr. Sykes leaned to one side of his chair and released a loud fart before answering with the address,” recalled one of the arresting detectives. “Mr. Sykes continued to be flatulent and I ended the interview,” he added.

After being arrested for a second time, police were less understanding of Mr. Sykes Jr.’s actions. The man is currently detained and will make his initial court appearance next Monday. At this stage, Kansas City reports that a bond has not been set for the flatulent criminal.

Unsurprisingly, online commenters have reacted to the incident with humor and jokes. “If i ever find myself being interrogated i'll have to try that... Some meaty air-biscuits will clear the room... Maybe even clear out the whole police station…” jokes ‘DrGreenthumbs’ on the Daily Mail. Another commenter, ‘mancuk73, agreed, writing: “obviously a peter kaye fan: sent to the headmaster’s office with his mates and broke wind until they were let go.”

“LOL, I guess that’s one way to get them to leave you alone,” replied ‘mrdonb07’. On Facebook, Jade Clark continued the jokes, writing: “I actually can't stop laughing at this honestly am buckled would be something we would do xxxxx” and tagged three of her friends in the story.

However, not every commenter was joking and some reacted a bit more seriously to the incident. “They should have locked him in the loo for 24 hours (and why was he released the first time!),” wrote Barbara Ford on the Metro.
