94-Year-Old Has Simple Message, Buys Five Seconds Of TV Commercial Time To Share It (Photos)

Very few people have seen as much and done as much as 94-year-old Shirley Batchelder. A Tennessee resident, Batchelder has been gradually marking items off of her “bucket list” for more than two decades and noted in a recent interview she had only one item remaining on her list.

Surprisingly, except to those who know Shirley well, the final item on her once long list is to purchase a TV ad to make the world a better place. What Batchelder did was buy five seconds of commercial time on a local television channel to broadcast a special message…“love one another.”

Batchelder calls Franklin, Tennessee home, and said her grandkids wanted to know what was left on her bucket list.

“I said there is one thing,” Batchelder noted in a conversation with a reporter at a local station in Nashville. “I want to put an ad on television.”

Batchelder, who is a widow, also highlighted that she and her husband were married for 57 years at the time he passed. “He was dark, curly hair, handsome,” she said reflecting on the love of her life.

The still-spry nonagenarian commented that each individual must choose for themselves show to act on her message, she simply believed “love one another” was an important way of thinking that everyone could understand.

Simple and powerful message.
