911 Operator Admits To Doing The Unthinkable When 'Certain People' Called

It sounds like this former 911 operator wasn’t too clear on her job description. As the Daily Mail reports, she’s facing charges after admitting to hanging up on callers she didn’t feel like talking to.

Crenshanda Williams, 43, is facing charges of interference with an emergency phone call. She was employed at the Houston Emergency Center, and managers became suspicious when phone logs revealed she had been involved in an inordinate number of short calls that lasted 20 seconds or less.

She’s accused of hanging up on a caller attempting to report a robbery at a convenience store. The call was answered by Williams and quickly disconnected. The man who attempted to phone in the call explained what happened.

“They just said, 'This is 911. How can I help you?' I was trying to finish my sentence and we got disconnected,” says Hua Li.

He was able to call in and get assistance from another operator, but by that time it was too late. The store owner was shot and killed.

When Williams faced questioning over her proclivity for short phone calls, she admitted to hanging up when she didn’t feel like talking to anyone.
