76-Year-Old Denied Help By The VA - Moments Later Employees Hear Screaming

After serving his country in the United States Navy, his country didn’t want to serve him. This left Peter A. Kaisen, a 76-year-old veteran and former police officer to commit suicide in front of the New York VA hospital that denied him care.

According to Watch This, Kaisen shot and killed himself in front of Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center on Aug. 21 after they allegedly denied him services even though he was a recurring patient.

"He went there for help with depression," Thomas Farley, a friend of Kaisen's for 40 years, told Fox News. "That was his last hope, and he didn't get any help."

Kaisen was reportedly injured while working as a police officer for the Long Beach Police Department. Those injuries left him disabled and in need of constant medication. Kaisen was reportedly upset because the hospital wouldn’t let him see an emergency-room physician for his mental health condition.

“He went to the E.R. and was denied service,” one person who currently works at the hospital, told the paper. “And then he went to his car and shot himself. Someone dropped the ball. They should not have turned him away.”

The hospital, however, denies this. His family hopes that Kaisen didn’t die in vain and that America will work to make services for VA’s better.
