61-Year-Old Man Finally Learns His Fate After Murdering His Wife's Rapist With A Tire Iron

A taxi driver from the Bronx beat a man to death with a tire iron. The dead man's family pleaded with the judge to drop the murder charges. When the judge did, a crowd gathered outside the courthouse cheered. Justice was served.

Mamadou Diallo, 61, had been charged with manslaughter for killing Earl Nash, 43. The background story showed why so many supported Diallo being freed.

Nash was an ex-convict with some 19 arrests on his record. His family reported that he was schizophrenic. He broke into Diallo's apartment and attempted to rape his wife Nenegale.

Nash knocked and pushed his way in after Nenegale opened the door. "I don't want money. I'm going to rape you," he told the wife and her sister who was also in the apartment. He hit Nenegale in the head with a chair and tore off her clothes. He also attacked and assaulted her sister.

The two women fought him viciously for 20 minutes when Nenegale managed to grab a phone and dial her husband quickly. Diallo was in his cab right near the building and rushed in. He chased Nash with a tire iron and Nash was rushed to the hospital. He later died of head injuries.

"We are dismissing the charges against Mamadou Diallo," the District Attorney told the judge, who accepted the recommendation. Even Nash's family cheered the decision when Diallo walked out a free man.
