4-Year-Old Fed THIS As Punishment At School, Sends Mother Over The Edge

An angry mother is demanding answers after she found out how her special needs 4-year-old was punished at his daycare. The teacher admitted to the deed, telling police it was a common disciplinary tactic.

Melaina Whitley thought her son Tanner had a virus. He came home early from his preschool not feeling well and throwing up. His mysterious illness cleared up within a day, but Tanner explained to her what really happened. His teacher at Friendship Pediatric Services gave him hot sauce as a punishment for hitting another child.

"When he said hot sauce, I thought maybe pop tarts, and I was like, 'Hot sauce?' Because I didn't know he knew the word hot sauce, so I know she had to have told him, 'I'm giving you hot sauce'," explained Whitley. "You just don't expect that. They're supposed to be qualified to work with special needs children and they're supposed know to not give hot sauce."

Police investigated and the teacher admitted to using hot sauce on Tanner and other children. She told police that it was common in her culture.

The daycare put out a statement saying the matter is under investigation with the Department of Human Services. "While we are not aware of any injury to a child, we did self-report a possible violation, and we are fully cooperating. It is our expectation we will learn the results soon, and will assure parents and staff that we will put in place measures designated to be certain the incident will not be repeated."

Though the daycare won't comment on the teacher during the investigation, Whitley wants something done. "They should at least fire her I think. Just anything, just something at all. I know for a fact she still works there," Whitley said.
