20 Years Later, JonBenét Ramsey's Killer Is Revealed

The still-unsolved JonBenét Ramsey case is in the public eye again thanks to new documentaries. Her older brother Burke recently spoke to Dr. Phil about the case. Burke has also sued CBS over insinuations in their documentary that Burke was JonBenet’s killer.
Of note, JonBenét's death remains unsolved. Experts on the case note the main suspects were always her family members -- one of her parents or Burke.

JonBenét Ramsey was a well-known 6-year-old beauty queen who lived with her family in Boulder, Colorado. Her father was a computer services company executive, and her mother, Patricia was a stay-at-home mom. She had an older brother Burke, and an older half-brother John.

On December 26, 1996, JonBenét's mother found a ransom note demanding $118,000 for her daughter's return. Patsy called police, who searched the house, but couldn't find any evidence of a break-in.

Keep in mind that $118,000 is the exact amount that JonBenet’s dad John received as a bonus from his company.

JonBenét's body was found in the basement of the family home eight hours later.

The parents claim that Burke slept through the entire incident and only woke up when police got there. Police also believe the ransom note was written with a pen and paper from the Ramsey's house, and even found a practice draft of the note in the house.

The girl’s body was discovered with her wrists bound and duct tape across her mouth. A cord was twisted around her neck, and the cause of death was asphyxiation by strangulation associated with craniocerebral trauma. There was also some evidence she had been sexually assaulted.

Back in 2008, all Ramsey members were cleared thanks to DNA testing reports that suggested an “unknown male” as the suspect.
Burke has criticized theories that his mother, Patsy, killed JonBenét, saying in an interview: "I've never seen her get in a fit of rage. I mean, it doesn't make sense not to say she never got upset, but nothing near like laying a finger on us, you know, let alone killing her child.”

However, Burke himself has also been considered a suspect in the murder of his sister, and many have noted he behaved bizarrely during a recent Today show interview, laughing and smiling during a discussion of the day his sister's body was found.
