17-Year-Old Viciously Attacks 5-Year-Old On The School Bus - Altercation Caught On Surveillance Video (Photos)

Police in South Carolina investigated an incident in which a little girl was slapped by a much older boy on a school bus. At first, the school district dismissed the incident because of the slap mark showing up on the wrong side of the child's face. Police say they believe the photo was flipped.

Jazmyn Peters was on the school bus when allegedly Tavon Walters, 17, slapped the 5-year-old across the face. When she got off the bus, her father snapped a photo of the red hand mark on her face. He shared it online, where it went viral.

Police investigated and found video footage from the bus ride that does show Walters touching the little girl's face. The school dismissed the claim that Walters left a mark because the pictures the little girl's dad posted online showed the mark on the left side of her face. The bus footage shows Walters touched the right side of the child's face.

Police looked into the matter and believe the photo of Jazmyn was flipped. They do believe that Walters caused the mark when he slapped her face on the bus.

The Peters family is considering suing the school. Walters, who has a history of getting into trouble, should not have been on the bus with young children, the parents say.

The school says Walters has never been on the bus before. Walters has been charged with assault.
