‘Spiritual War’ Resulting in ‘a Looney Bird World’

Christians are under attack by those who defend the rights of nonbelievers and the LGBT community, according to columnist David Limbaugh.

“It’s a spiritual war that we’re seeing play out,” he told Newsmax TV in a Friday interview. “When you see things that are just nonsensical, that don’t make sense to us in our logical minds, you almost have to attribute that to something beyond.”

Limbaugh called it “nonsense” and “insanity” that “transgender people (are) demanding the right to go in the bathroom of the opposite gender.” He accused activists of “not just asking politely, but then suing when a city rejects them through referendum.”

The writer also criticized the firing of a football coach in the state of Washington for leading prayers at a public school, in violation of the constitutional separation of church and state.

“When a football coach can’t voluntarily pray on the 50-yard line without being accused of running afoul of the establishment clauses of the federal and state constitutions, we’re in a looney-bird world here — and so people are fighting back,” Limbaugh told Ed Berliner, host of Newsmax TV’s “The Hard Line.” He added: “That’s one of the reasons you see outsiders doing well in the polls in the Republican primary.”
