Mother Gave Up Hope For Son's Cancer, Tries Controversial Oil - Utterly Blown Away

When you're told your son is dying, you may be willing to try anything. One mom tried an unconventional treatment on her teen son when faced with the prospect of his death. She said the results of the treatment 'blew her mind'.

Callie Blackwell was devastated that her 17-year-old son, Deryn, was dying of cancer. When he was just 10 years old, he was diagnosed with leukemia. A year and a half after that, doctors found a second cancer: Langerhans cell sarcoma, an extremely rare form of cancer. There have only been 50 recorded cases in medical history.

For years, Deryn's health continued to go downhill. The boy was at the point where, after chemotherapy, radiotherapy, several bone marrow transplants and other treatments ravaged his body, he just wanted to die. After four years of treatments that weren't working, he was ready to give up.

Things were so bad that Deryn's funeral had already been planned. The UK mom wasn't quite ready to let the fight go, though. She did some research online and that cannabis oil was used to treat anxiety. Since Deryn was suffering from extreme anxiety and pain due to his treatments, she hoped that it would at least soothe him. Since he was dying anyway, she saw no reason not to try it.

"We noticed within half an hour he was chilled out, the anxiety stopped, he was able to relax," said Callie in an interview later.

Something even more amazing happened; Deryn has been recovering. "Oh my god, honestly, the effects of it blew my mind. It was not what I expected," Callie said.

Deryn, who is looking and feeling much better now, is still undergoing some treatments, but is on his way to full recovery. Instead of his funeral, he's planning his future. He wants to be a chef.
