English Woman Bumps Uglies With Boyfriend, Winds Up In Surgery Shortly After

Sex can result in a lot of things-- a child, a disease, feelings for the other person you did not know existed. It can also tell you a lot about your own body. Sex is more complex for women than for men. In many cases they can feel pain when men cannot. They are more prone to sexually transmitted diseases and urinary tract infections due to their anatomy.

One woman in London, Ellie Taylor-Davis was having sex with her boyfriend when she noticed a bump move in her stomach. She felt it again when she went to the bathroom. After a quick Google search, she concluded that it was probably constipation and did not think about it again.

It was not until Ellie went to the gynecologist a full month later to get a contraceptive device that the doctor noticed something was off. During the ultrasound, the doctor found a 16 cm long cancerous tumor in her abdomen and ovaries. Luckily the cancer was easy to surgically remove and Ellie is recovering.

Ellie wanted to share her story to bring awareness to other women. She wanted other women to keep an eye out for any symptoms and to not hesitate to see a specialist. If Ellie had waited longer to see a doctor or had not decided to get a contraceptive device, it is hard to say when the cancer would have been found, if it was ever found. She said, "I would never have been aware that anything was wrong had I not felt the cancerous cyst during sex, it saved my life and I'm very lucky to be here. I felt something were move inside of me and I thought it was really strange – as sex had never felt like that before which freaked me out.

After sex I became aware of the unusually large alien mass in my lower abdomen, I Googled the symptoms but convinced myself it couldn't be cancer.

"When they took the tumor out of me it looked like an alien, it was huge and weird looking, I could believe I had that inside of me.

Thankfully it was caught in time and I am in remission now - it's really important for women to get in tune with their bodies and become aware of the changes in their own bodies."
