Belligerent Airline Passenger In Trump Hat Berates Fellow Travelers, Gets Kicked Off Plane

The friendly skies haven’t been all that friendly as of late, as there have been a number of high-profile instances in which either flight crew members or airline passengers have been behaving badly. We have another one to add to the list, and this one comes courtesy of an elderly gentleman that got a little colicky while waiting for an international flight from Shanghai, China, to Newark, New Jersey to take off. As AOL shares, the passenger decided that he was entitled to all three seats in his row since his upgrade request was denied.

Unfortunately for the passenger, the real world doesn’t work that way. Also unfortunately, the man of advanced age has not yet learned how to accept that not all things in life will go his way. The man caused a good old-fashioned ruckus, and the flight ended up being extensively delayed as a result.

“Already delayed an hour coming out of Shanghai to EWR when an older man in my row with a "'Make America Great Again" hat decides to make a ruckus and delay everybody else. He insists that, because he couldn't get an upgrade, he's entitled to all three seats next to him even though they're assigned to somebody else,” a passenger from the flight shared on social media.

The fact that he was wearing a MAGA hat seemed to only exacerbate the situation, as the other passengers on the plane began to heckle him. In defense of the passengers, they were quite ticked off that the man was causing such a delay, and he likely would have been heckled regardless of what kind of hat he was wearing.

“Captain, crew, and airport staff come over. Man threatens that they'll have to drag him off the plane. He finally relents, but not before berating some female passengers and crew, calling one passenger "Hillary" (lol) and "lesbian,” the passenger continued.

Sounds like the heckling got to the cranky elderly man, and he decided the best way to handle it was to start berating others. The ugly incident eventually got sorted out, but it’s yet another reminder that you should prepare for an adventure when boarding a plane - just in case.

“Unclear if the guy was eventually arrested, but gossip amongst the passengers is that Chinese police did not want to create an international incident on the plane, so rather than arrest him on the plane, they waited for the man to deplane as they had jurisdiction inside of the airport,” the passenger concluded.
