Students Craft Epic Response After Anti-Religion Group Sticks Nose Where It Doesn't Belong

Somewhere out there, there’s a special interest group that focuses on its own business and resists the urge to stick its nose into the business of everyone else. We don’t have to look all that far to find one that doesn’t do just that.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation falls into that category, as the group goes out of its way to make things difficult for those that don’t agree with them. For example, the group recently targeted a predominantly Christian school in Larue, Texas for reasons that remain unclear.

As AWM shares, the school has had a Christian flag on its grounds for as long as anyone can remember with nary a complaint. The FFRF was displeased with this, and they went out of their way to make sure it was removed on the grounds that church and state should be separated.

While that may be technically true, we’ll go back to the point that it’s a predominantly Christian school and no one was even the slightest bit upset about a flag that had been there for ages.

Regardless, the flag was removed. Then the students got involved. They weren’t really pleased with the fact that a random special interest group could stick its beak into their business, so they decided to respond.

Students outfitted their vehicles with Christian flags, and the entire parking lot was littered with them as far as the eye could see.

“The Freedom From Religion organization really has a distorted and inaccurate view of the separation of church and state in the First Amendment,” noted one community member. “Matter of fact, I’d like to say that their viewpoint is probably void and alien to that of our founding fathers.”

FFRF attorney Sam Grover must be beside himself at the moment, as his pontificating statement has done little to quell the will of the people.

“It is unconstitutional for the school to display the Christian flag,” Grover huffed in his letter to Supt. James Young. “The display of this patently religious symbol by the District confers government endorsement of Christianity, in violation of the Establishment Clause.”

One student offered up some thoughts on behalf of the student body, and she’s also pretty confused why the FFRF is randomly picking a fight with such a small town.

“This has nothing to do with the community or the school board or anything like that. It’s us students, it’s whatever we want to put up,” she said. “Actually we put two more flags on poles that aren’t on school property over there and now the kids are flying them on their trucks.”

So what will the FFRF do now? File suit against the students? Jump up and down some more because the students haven’t kowtowed to the wishes of a random special-interest group?

We’ll have to wait and see about that, but there’s obviously no hope that they’ll suddenly wake up and stop being nuisances. Thankfully, there are students such as this that will be more than happy to put them in their place.
