Police Put Veteran, Muslim Prisoners In Same Cell – Huge Mistake

An investigation is ongoing at the Kempsey prison in New South Wales, Australia after the horrific beating of an inmate. Reports indicate that the beating stemmed from a pair of inmates that didn’t see eye to eye on things, but prison officials are being blasted for missing some red flags. As Mad World News reports, a radicalized Muslim inmate was placed in a cell with a Military veteran, and carnage soon ensued.

The Muslim inmate, 18, is accused of brutally beating and torturing his cellmate, a 40-year-old military veteran. Guards at the prison would hear screams emanating from their cell, and they rushed to investigate. They would find the Muslim inmate, Bourhan Hraichie, carving an inscription of “e 4 e” on the victim’s forehead, which is noted as an eye for an eye in ISIS speak.

“This was a serious mistake and is under investigation. At face value, he shouldn’t have been sharing a cell with anybody.” according to NSW Corrective Services Commissioner Peter Severin.

Severin may be understating the obvious. Hraichie is also accused of pouring boiling water on the victim’s face, as well as breaking his sternum. The vet had to be placed into a medically induced coma by medical professionals.

“I have decided to suspend the general manager of the correctional centre pending the outcome of this investigation. If you are radicalized and at risk of engaging in violent extremism, you need to be locked up. You need to be very highly controlled,” Severin continued.

A little vetting goes a long way when it comes to the general prison population, and it’s quite clear that prison officials didn’t take the time to investigate whether or not Hraichie was a potential powder keg.

“The 18-year-old, in our belief, had presented enough information and bad behavior to have been segregated, or at the very least, been put in a single cell,” said Public Sector Association spokesman Steve McMahon.
