Navy Seal’s Wife Ensures Every Military Grave Had A Wreath When It Was Announced They Wouldn’t

"Wreaths Across America" is a program that places a Christmas wreath on the grave of every grave at Arlington National Cemetery. This year, the program fell extremely short in funds for the gesture that so many feel is important. The widow of a Navy Seal was determined that no grave would go without a wreath.

Bree Kingsbury found out that the organization was short 110,000 wreaths this December, so she took to Fox and Friends News. The conservative news channel was happy to allow Kingsbury air time to make a plea. She appeared on the show and reached out to the audience to solicit donations.

Many answered the call, but the program was still 30,000 wreaths short. Kingsbury went back on the show to thank viewers and ask for the donations to cover the remaining wreaths. Again, viewers came through.

“It’s a time for us to pay our respects and honor our servicemen and women,” said Kingsbury. “This is a very tangible way for tens of thousands of Americans to do just that.”

Kingsbury said placing the wreaths on graves is like Christmas, Memorial Day and Independence Day all rolled into one. “Next year we hope we can focus a little more on the smaller cemetery’s,” she said. “Regardless of where a veteran is buried, they deserve to be remembered.”
