Trump's Mexico Border Wall Prototypes Being Built South Of San Diego
It seems that drone footage has recently been released showing teams of laborers working to complete eight different prototypes of the new border wall that President Trump has proposed. The drone footage allows you to see the progress being made on the wall prototypes out in the California desert south of San Diego.
The construction on the border wall prototype models began at the end of September. Moreover, the US Customs and Border Patrol agency invited reporters to come to the site and take a look at the work construction companies are doing at this point. Small crowds that were excited to see what these firms have been up to also showed up.

The majority of the wall prototypes are constructed from concrete. However, President Trump has stated that he wants a wall that agents can look through to see people on the other side so we’ll just have to wait and see what the actual wall looks like in the future.
Note that these prototypes are designed to be 30 feet high and 30 feet wide so that you can see all of the various features they will offer.
Keep in mind that at least four of the prototype border walls will be made from concrete. It seems that President Trump has requested the other four prototype walls to be made from “other materials”, but it is unclear what this might mean.
The wall along the southern border between the US and Mexico was one of Trump’s biggest and most controversial campaign promises. Despite opposition from politicians in both parties and on both sides of the border, the president is pushing to get the huge project underway. Trump also falsely promised to have Mexico pay for the wall, but the President of Mexico said “hell no” when asked about his country paying for Trump’s insulting and unnecessary wall.

Trump bizarrely continues to lie to the public and say Mexico will pay for the wall eventually, but in the meantime, American taxpayers will have to pay for the hundreds of millions in costs for labor and materials to build the 600-mile long border wall.
Builders will be finishing up their prototypes in the next few weeks. At that point, the CBP will pick one or more winners to award contracts to or none if the agency is not satisfied with the prototypes.
A CBP press release noted that these border wall prototypes “will inform future design standards which will likely continue to evolve to meet the US Border Patrol’s requirements.”
Given the massive political opposition to Trump’s expensive border wall, the CBP has prepared for large protests with a “Free Speech Zone” for people to gather and peacefully protest against the building of the unnecessary Mexico border wall.

Ronald Vitiello, the CBP’s acting deputy commissioner, summed up the CBPO’s plans in a statement earlier this fall:
“We are committed to securing our border and that includes constructing border walls. Our multi-pronged strategy to ensure the safety and security of the American people includes barriers, infrastructure, technology and people. Moving forward with the prototypes enables us to continue to incorporate all the tools necessary to secure our border.”
