Trump Would Raise Taxes On The Rich

Billionaire and Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump said he wouldn't mind paying more in taxes to give the middle class a break. On Bloomberg's "With All Due Respect" on Wednesday, Trump said “You've seen my statements, I do very well, I don't mind paying some taxes. The middle class is getting clobbered in this country. You know the middle class built this country, not the hedge fund guys, but I know people in hedge funds that pay almost nothing and it's ridiculous.” He went on to say “I would let people making hundreds of millions of dollars-a-year pay some tax, because right now they are paying very little tax and I think it's outrageous."

When asked about the debt ceiling, Trump said it would be worth it for the Republicans to battle Obama over raising the debt ceiling although he said he realizes it will eventually be raised. He added “Honestly, there's so much fat in Washington, that if you had the right people in there, you could cut it and there would be no problem." When discussing lowering tax rates to help prevent corporate inversions(a process where companies are re-incorporated in other countries to avoid American taxes), Trump said "Let the money come in, tax it at a much lower rate, and let the money come in. This is money that could be spent in this country, and they can't get it in.”
