Trump Won’t Be Doing Any More Interviews on Fox News

Donald Trump declared Wednesday that he is boycotting Fox News because its reporters have covered his presidential campaign “very unfairly.”

The front-running Republican presidential candidate was upset that the network had canceled his scheduled appearance on Bill O’Reilly’s show, according to the Independent Journal Review. Fox News released a written statement explaining that the cancelation “resulted in Mr. Trump’s subsequent tweet about his boycott.”

The statement blasted Trump, claiming that “when coverage doesn’t go his way, he engages in personal attacks on our anchors and hosts, which has grown stale and tiresome.” Fox News officials wrote that the billionaire businessman “doesn’t seem to grasp that candidates telling journalists what to ask is now how the media (work) in this country.”

The network’s president, Roger Ailes, added: “We have never been deterred by politicians or anyone else attacking us for doing our job, much less allowed ourselves to be bullied, and we’re certainly not going to start now.”

The IJ Review reported that the Trump campaign did not respond when asked whether the boycott will include a Fox-sponsored debate in January.

Trump has had several conflicts with Fox News this year. He has repeatedly criticized network host Megyn Kelly, one of the moderators at the first GOP candidates’ debate. Trump suggested that she challenged him during the event because she was having her menstrual period. This week, he called her a “lightweight.”
