Trump Shrugs Off Criticism From Jeb Bush

Donald Trump claimed Wednesday that Jeb Bush is hoping to boost his floundering presidential campaign by launching attacks against the front-runner, Newsmax reported.

Bush, stung by Trump’s criticism of former President George W. Bush, has slammed his rival for the Republican nomination in recent days. According to the real-estate mogul, the younger Bush is “embarrassed” about his low poll numbers.

“The last thing we need is another Bush,” Trump declared on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” repeating his statement from earlier in the campaign. He reacted to one of the former Florida governor’s jabs. “To compare me to (filmmaker) Michael Moore is a first. That one hasn’t happened before,” the billionaire businessman told show host George Stephanopoulos.

Newsmax noted that Bush, in an op-ed for The National review published Tuesday, rejected Trump’s remark that George W. Bush could have prevented the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. Bush called the comment the “latest episode of the reality show that is Donald Trump's campaign,” adding: “That Trump echoes the attacks of Michael Moore and the fringe left against my brother is yet another example of his dangerous views on national-security issues.”

Trump has led all national polls of Republican voters for more than 100 days. While Ben Carson is just a few percentage points behind, most of the other candidates in the GOP field are languishing in single digits. Bush has placed no better than fourth in recent surveys.
