Trump Says He Would ‘Knock the Hell Out Of’ ISIS

Donald Trump revealed Monday how he would deal with the Islamic State militant group if he is elected president.

He pledged to deploy more ground troops to the Middle East, primarily to recapture and defend oil fields in Iraq, Reuters reported.

“(ISIS has) great money because they have oil,” the real-estate mogul said on “Morning Joe” on MSNBC. “Every place where they have oil I would knock the hell out of them. I would knock out the source of their wealth, the primary sources of their wealth, which is oil. And in order to do that, you would have to put boots on the ground. I would knock the hell out of them but I'd put a ring around it and I'd take the oil for our country.”

Trump also argued that the United States should seize the militant group’s bank accounts, though he did not explain how it could be done.

The billionaire continues to lead the other 16 Republican candidates by a large margin. His controversial performance during and after last week’s debate, when he made inflammatory remarks about Fox News moderator Megyn Kelly, apparently did not harm his campaign. A national poll conducted after the debate showed that his support actually increased slightly.
