Trump Questions Obama's Motives After Orlando Shooting

Donald Trump ignited another controversy on Monday, when he suggested that President Obama is not committed to fighting terrorism because of some mysterious motive.

According to The Hill, the Republican presidential candidate told Fox News “there’s something going on” which he considers “inconceivable.” Trump continued: “People can’t believe it; people cannot believe that President Obama is acting the way he acts and can’t even mention the words ‘radical Islamic terrorism.’ He doesn’t get it, or he gets it better than anybody understands. It’s one or the other, and either one is unacceptable.”

The Hill noted that it was not the first time that Trump, a leader of the “birther” movement that claimed Obama was born in Kenya, has questioned the president’s patriotism and faith. “There are a lot of people who think maybe he doesn’t want to get it. A lot of people think maybe he doesn’t want to know about it,” the New York City billionaire said on NBC’s “Today.”

The previous day, 49 people died in a mass shooting at a nightclub in Orlando, Fla. Trump was quick to respond to the tragedy, touting his proposals to suspend Muslim immigration to the United States and conduct surveillance of Muslim-Americans. He declared at a rally Monday afternoon in New Hampshire that Obama and presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton put “political correctness above common sense; above your safety.” He added: “I refuse to be politically correct.”
