Trump: My Fans ‘Would Be Scorned’ If They ‘Acted’ Like Democrats

Donald Trump is lashing out at Democrats for their attempts to prevent him from becoming commander-in-chief, The Hill reported.

On Sunday, the president-elect tweeted: “If my many supporters acted and threatened people like those who lost the election are doing, they would be scorned & called terrible names!” While he did not explain what he was talking about, Trump may have been referring to the Democratic electors who tried to persuade Republican member of the Electoral College to vote for a different GOP leader, like Mitt Romney or Sen. John McCain, when they met Monday.

The tweet also could have been a reaction to the Russian government’s alleged interference with last month’s election. According to The Washington Post, CIA officials recently informed some members of Congress that hackers under the direction of Russian leader Vladimir Putin were attempting to help Trump win when they attacked computers at the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton’s campaign headquarters. Federal authorities also are investigating charges that the Russians hacked voting machines in swing states where the reported results varied widely from exit-poll data.

Trump and his supporters claim the allegations are coming from Democrats who refuse to accept that their candidate lost. However, according to multiple sources, Putin wanted to keep Clinton out of the White House because he thinks she tried to influence Russian elections in 2011, when she was secretary of state. Putin and Trump have a cordial relationship, as evidenced by compliments they have exchanged. Trump has called the Russian ruler a “stronger leader” than President Obama.
