Trump Makes It Official: He's Running for President

While Donald Trump has hinted at a presidential run in past presidential elections, today, he finally announced that he is running for US president. Introduced by his daughter Ivanka Trump and speaking at his Trump Tower skyscraper in Manhattan, he declared “I am officially running for president of the United States. We are going to make our country great again.” Trump also added “I will be the greatest jobs president that God ever created.” Trump is not just a billionaire American business mogul but he is a worldwide celebrity and master of self-promotion.

While continuously active in commentary regarding current events, Trump will be joining a crowded presidential race. In addition, Trump will be required to reveal details of his personal finances such as his net worth, sources of income, liabilities and assets--he did share his net worth was over $9 billion. Since Trump ranks in the top 10 in national polls, he will get a place on the debate stage. He recently said in an interview with the Associated Press “Selfishly, the networks would put me on because I get great ratings." Jeb Bush will be at the debates, as well, whom Trump criticized over Common Core and his immigration policy.
