Trump: If Russia Hacked The Election, Why Didn’t President Obama Do Something About It

Donald Trump continues to dismiss reports that the Russian government assisted his presidential campaign by hacking Democratic officials’ computers, Newsmax reported.

Using his favorite method of communication, the president-elect tweeted: “If Russia, or some other entity, was hacking, why did the White House wait so long to act? Why did they only complain after Hillary lost?”

CNN defended the administration by suggesting President Obama did not want to talk about the cyber attacks because it could feed Trump’s allegation of a “rigged election.” White House spokesman Josh Earnest claimed the president held off on addressing the issue until federal investigators had completed their work. Earnest told reporters on Wednesday that Trump was “obviously aware” of the Russians’ attempts to help him win.

“There was ample evidence that was known long before the election, and in most cases long before October, about the Trump campaign in Russia, everything from the Republican nominee himself calling on Russia to hack his opponent,” the spokesman said. “It might be an indication that he was obviously aware and concluded, based on whatever facts or sources he had available to him, that Russia was involved and their involvement was having a negative impact on his opponent's campaign.”
