Trump Fires Back When Clinton Calls Him ‘Sexist’

Donald Trump, in response to Hillary Clinton calling him “sexist” last week, accused her of playing the “war on women card,” The Hill reported.

The Republican presidential front-runner slammed his rival’s comments at a campaign event in Iowa. When a girl in the audience told Clinton that students bully her because she suffers from asthma, the Democratic White House hopeful replied that people have said “terrible things” about her, as well.

Clinton quickly pivoted to Trump, declaring that voters “shouldn’t let anybody bully his way into the presidency.” The following day, the billionaire businessman tweeted: “The Hillary Clinton staged event yesterday was pathetic. Be careful, Hillary, as you play the war on women or women being degraded card.”

The candidates have been exchanging insults since Trump recently remarked that Clinton “got schlonged” by Barack Obama in the 2008 Democratic primaries. Many consider the Yiddish word vulgar, though Trump claims it is a common term for being soundly defeated.

The real-estate tycoon also stirred controversy by calling Clinton’s trip to the restroom during the last Democratic debate “too disgusting.” That drew a retort from the former secretary of state’s communications director, who called on voters to reject Trump’s “degrading language.” In an interview, Clinton cited Trump’s “bigotry, bluster and bullying.”

The Hill noted that Trump has frequently made controversial comments about women. Following the first Republican presidential debate, during which Fox News’ Megyn Kelly asked him about his inflammatory rhetoric, he said she “had blood coming out of her whatever.”
