Trump Dropped In On Private Christmas Party At Mar-A-Lago Last Weekend

President Trump is well known for enjoying a good party, so it’s not too surprising he crashed a private company Christmas party this weekend that was being hosted at his luxurious Mar-a-Lago club in southern Florida. Sure, it was a private party for employees and invited guests only, but if you decide to host a party at Mar-a-Lago, a visit from the president is always a possibility.

Trump had the opportunity to drop in on the corporate Christmas party this weekend because the President decided to come by his “winter White House” for a getaway. According to sources close to the president, the owner of the golfing resort just saw the party in ballroom and decided to pop in on impulse.

Although the president’s Secret Service security team wasn’t too happy about the unplanned stop, it seemed that almost all of the guests at the holiday shindig were happy to spend some time with the famous if uninvited party guest. Of course, more than a dozen of the formally attired guests wanted to record the moment for posterity, taking a selfie with Trump in the background or posting videos of the surprise guest at the Christmas party on Facebook or Instagram.

At least based on the videos posted on social media, just about everyone at the party had smile on their face as President Trump introduced himself and shook hands all around. There is no question that the guests at the fancy schmancy country club and resort were enjoying all of the amenities on offer as well as the surprise visit from the Commander-in-Chief.

Such behavior by the President at his Palm Beach residence is common. Remember, back in February of this year, he crashed a wedding going on at Mar-a Lago during a visit to the US by Japanese prime minister Shinzō Abe.

On that occasion, Trump and Abe apparently showed up at the wedding completely unannounced, leading to momentary pandemonium at the event. Then the president even spoke a few words to the wedding group.

A guest at the wedding took a video of Trump's impromptu speech and posted it online.

In the video, Trump comments: “I said to the prime minister of Japan, I said, 'come on, Shinzo, let's go over and say hello'."

Of interest, several months afterwards in mid-August, Trump gatecrashed another wedding, this time at his golf course located in New Jersey.

Note that a possible visit by President Trump is now a selling point for the Trump golf property. According to a marketing brochure: “If he is on-site for your big day, he will likely stop in & congratulate the happy couple. He may take some photos with you, but we ask you and your guests to be respectful of his time and privacy.”

Critics of the ultra-rich businessman cried foul, pointing out it is inappropriate for the president to market himself as a fringe benefit to customers, and the text in question was recently deleted from the club’s marketing materials.

The President returned to the White House on Sunday.
