Trump Defends Muslim Immigration Ban, Rips Hillary Clinton

Donald Trump is not backing down from his proposal to stop Muslims from entering the United States, despite Hillary Clinton having called the plan “divisive and dangerous,” The Hill reported.

“The fact that Hillary thinks the temporary Muslim ban, which she calls the ‘Muslim ban,’ promotes terrorism, proves Bernie Sanders was correct when he said she is not qualified to be president,” the Trump campaign said in a written statement on Thursday.

Earlier in the day, during an appearance on CNN, Clinton declared: “When you run for president of the United States, the entire world is listening and watching. So when you say you’re going to bar all Muslims, you’re sending evidence to the Muslim world, and you’re also sending a message to terrorists. … Donald Trump is essentially being used as a recruiter for more people to join the cause of terrorism.”

The presumptive Republican nominee’s campaign responded by citing Wednesday’s disappearance of a plane during its flight from Paris to Cairo. “Ask Hillary who blew up the plane last night; another terrible, but preventable tragedy,” the statement read. “She has bad judgment, and is unfit to serve as president at this delicate and difficult time in our country’s history.”

The Hill pointed out that Sanders also has suggested that Clinton is unqualified, due to her “judgment” on issues like the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq. However, the Vermont senator later backed down and admitted that “of course” the former secretary of state has the necessary qualifications to be president.
