Trump Defends Fast Food Habit; Says He’s in Good Health

Donald Trump, defending his habit of dining on fast food, claimed Wednesday that “at least you know what they are putting in it.”

The Hill reported that the Republican presidential nominee offered the excuse to “Dr. Oz” on the physician’s program. Trump made the television appearance to assure voters about his health and provide information from a recent medical checkup.

The examination revealed that the candidate is slightly overweight and has a somewhat elevated cholesterol level, according to Bloomberg Politics. Oz, after looking over documents written by Trump’s doctor, proclaimed that there appeared to be nothing particularly troublesome.

Trump’s purported body-mass index of 30 is the lowest reading that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention considers “obese.” Oz advised the real-estate tycoon to shed between 15 and 20 pounds. The Hill pointed out that Trump’s Democratic critics have questioned his weight, as well as his previous reluctance to release information about his medical history. Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada said Tuesday that the candidate is not “slim and trim.”

Questions regarding Trump’s health have intensified at the same time his rival for the presidency, Hillary Clinton, is recovering from a bout of pneumonia. She returned to the campaign trail Thursday, after nearly collapsing at a 9/11 memorial event in New York City on Sunday.
